Frugalpac promote export success in Trade Week

Frugalpac CEO Malcolm Waugh presents a special commemorative Trade Week Frugal Bottle to new Trade Minister Nigel Huddleston

Frugalpac highlighted its export success with new International Trade Minister Nigel Huddleston at the Department for International Trade’s Export Academy Live in London.

The Department for International Trade has played a crucial part in helping Frugalpac export its paper Frugal Bottle to 18 countries including the US, Canada, Japan, across Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, and South Africa.

Frugalpac displayed some of the Frugal Bottles from the 30 different drinks producers from around the world who have launched wines, spirits and olive oils in the Frugal Bottle since the first paper bottle was launched in June 2020.

They included bottles from US drinks producers Signal 7 Wines and Distillery 98, Spain’s Bodegas Murviedro, Italy’s Cantina Goccia, France’s Avallen Spirits, South Africa’s Interpunkt, Sweden’s Buen Vato and from the UK When In Rome, NB Distillery, Silent Pool and Greenall’s Gin, which is on sale in Sainsbury’s.

To say thank you, CEO Malcolm Waugh presented Minister Huddleston with a special commemorative Frugal Bottle made to mark International Trade Week.

Malcolm Waugh, CEO of Frugalpac said: “We were delighted to showcase our Frugal Bottle, the World’s first commercial paper bottle for wines and spirits, at the London leg of the Export Academy Live roadshow.

We met a fantastic range of businesses that are forging the way for British business abroad. The Department for International Trade has been a great advocate of our product and we look forward to working closely to further strengthen our global growth plan.”

As well as enquiries to make 120m Frugal Bottles, Frugalpac also has strong enquiries from more than 100 other international brand, contract packing and packaging companies to buy Frugal Bottle Assembly Machines. Each machine will be able to produce 2.5 million Frugal Bottles a year.

Canadian packaging firm KinsBrae Packaging has agreed a deal to buy the first Frugal Bottle Assembly Machine – called FBAM-1 and install it in Canada to serve the North American market.
